Who is BEANO The Clown ?
He is
Bernard Sabran.
He
is french ;-)
He
trained as an actor in London in the 80s, at the Citly Lit and at the
East15 Acting School, and works in the theatre and on television. He
started clowning in 1993, while working at the National Theatre.
He
decided to explore the art of clowning and to develop his clown in
1996, after seeing the Snow Show, performed by Slava Polunin and Angela
de Castro. Since then, he has been learning about the clown in
workshops with Gerry Flanagan, Slava Polunin, Angela de Castro, and
Philippe Gaulier. He studied mime with John Mowat, magic with Michael
Dow, balloon modeling with Michael Decker and David Grist, and Commedia
d'el Arte with Paola Cavallin.
He
has created his theatre show, "Les Reves", which featured at the
Edinburgh Festival in 2001 and 2002 and is touring the UK.
Eventually,
he wants to "do everything a clown does": in children parties, in
corporate work, in the theatre, in the circus, in the street and in
hospitals; and he wants to bridge the gap between these different areas
in his work.
